The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage

The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage is dedicated to stimulating a vibrant cultural community in the five-county, Southeastern Pennsylvania region. Established in 2005, the Center houses seven funding initiatives of The Pew Charitable Trusts. Through these initiatives the Center supports area artists and arts and heritage organizations whose work is distinguished by excellence, imagination, and courage.

Tanya Hamilton’s Night Catches Us embraced by Sundance Film Festival audiences

According to the LA Times, Pew Fellow Tanya Hamilton’s Night Catches Us is one of the many in the Sundance awards hunt under the U.S. Dramatic Competition banner. The film, starring The Hurt Locker‘s Anthony Mackie, Kerry Washington, Jamie Hector, Wendell Pierce and Jamara Griffin, is set in mid-1970s Philadelphia, around themes of former Black Panthers and revolutionary ideals and love exploding, etc.
